Terms & Definitions

White Fragility

The intolerability of racial stress or discomfort that blocks white people from doing the work of anti-racism.

Antiblackness

Internalized beliefs, discrimination and harms imposed and impacting Black people.

White Dominant Culture

Normalized practices, beliefs, and values of white people that have become the standard in a society.


BIPOC

An acronym for Black Indigenous People of Color. A. term used to define a group and is not a term applied to any individual.

White Saviorism

A belief that white people have an obligation to save BIPOC from their โ€œinferiority and helplessnessโ€.
